Patch Notes - 0.6.1037

This update enhances gameplay with improved desktop and mobile experiences, including new customization options, redesigned interfaces, and seasonal content like the Winter event. Players can enjoy smoother interactions, better UI scalability, and exciting new features like sub-regions, skill auto-equip, and improved Merchant vendor shops.

Happy new year from the Tales of Landor team! Thanks for all of you. We can promise the next year will be full with exciting content updates, features and polishing.

We will have a new years winter event from now on until the 30. January 2024 (UTC+1). Monsters drop Candy Canes and you can trade the candy canes in the village for some nice rewards!

We also greatly improved user experience for Mobile and PC.
The patch is includes more improvements as well.

Additions

Gameplay

  • Winter New Years Event with new shop and items.
  • Scouts no longer spawn on bridge; increased spawn capacity.
  • New skills auto-equip to empty skill slots.
  • Skills and controls can now be customized with mouse buttons.
  • Sub-regions added with notifications when entering certain areas.
  • Event NPCs now display titles above their names.

UX

  • Double-click inventory item to equip/use/scrap.
  • Ctrl+Double-click inventory item to trash.
  • Long-press inventory/shop items (on Android) to open the context menu with vibration feedback.
  • Death screen "respawn" button auto-focused (press Enter/Space to respawn).
  • Scrap dealer interactions improved: double-click slots to retrieve items, and auto-focus "scrap" button for quick activation.
  • Equipment window shows equipped weapon and pet.
  • Double click/tapping crafting blueprint will open craft details.

UI

  • Redesigned character for easier viewing.
  • Spell window now shows hotkeys, cooldowns, and sorts active skills.
  • Added themed settings tabs and headers for improved navigation.
  • Added "empty" profession icon when no professions are assigned.
  • Chat message history limit increased to preserve older whispers.
  • Cash shop has a "new" category and tag to see new items.

Settings

  • Bug Reporting (F9): Report issues directly from the game.
  • Fullscreen Toggle (F11): Quickly toggle fullscreen mode. (Toggle Immersive Mode moved to F10.)
  • Camera Drift: Option to disable camera drag/smoothing for a fixed view on player.
  • Window Backdrop: Show gameplay behind open UI windows (PC only).
  • System Cursor: Option to hide the custom cursor.
  • Chat Sounds: Toggle sound notifications for each chat channel. System sounds off by default.
  • UI Scale (67%): Nearly 1:1 pixel scale for 1920x1080 resolution.
  • Native Resolution: Enables true 1:1 pixel rendering for PC.
  • Added more controls to "Keys" setting (for PC).

Mobile-Specific

  • Redesigned on-screen controls with multitouch support.
  • Improved joystick and button layout for comfort and usability.
  • Joystick is larger and will center to the initial touch position.
  • Added a new "interact" button.
  • Tap and dragging on map will rotate character. (You can rotate while moving, same as desktop.)
  • Added "Controls" settings page for mobile-specific customization.

Changes

Gameplay

  • New characters now spawn on the village dock.
  • Bandit and owl spawns increased.
  • Mini-bosses and Event NPCs display their titles above their names.
  • Target dummies take true damage and levels are scaled up.
  • Improved some forest map visuals.
  • Camera will no longer snap to town before player respawns.

UX

  • Clicking outside windows will close window.
  • Focused interface controls can be activated with enter/space keys.
  • When interface controls are focused, skills/chat will be disabled.

UI

  • Equipment tooltips are more compact and less obstructive.
  • Looting with a full inventory now displays "Not enough space."
  • Popup buttons are color-coded for readability, with "Ok" aligned to the right.
  • Drop-down menus redesigned for consistency and better scaling.
  • Reworked Merchant vendor shop interface for improved usability.
  • Overflow menu positioned below hamburger button to allow easy toggling it.
  • Potion skill will be faded out when no potion is equipped.

Settings

  • Removed deprecated "item quick action" setting (replaced by double clicking).
  • Renamed Settings > Misc to Tools.

Mobile-Specific

  • Chat window size and performance widget font increased for readability.
  • Support added for both landscape orientations (and rotating device).
  • Main menu bottom buttons enlarged for easier interaction.
  • Loading screen scaled up for mobile.
  • Moved chat output to bottom center of screen.

Audio

  • Footstep volume reduced by 50% for subtlety.
  • Gold drop sound moved to the SFX volume slider.

Fixes

Gameplay

  • Player attacks no longer trigger when clicking on item context menus.
  • Interacting near loot while selected player will prioritize loot as expected.
  • Small fixes and touchups to forest map.

UX

  • Equipping stacked items now merges them properly.
  • Using a spellbook at max tech points no longer locks the item.
  • Improved crafting interface for better usability.
  • Popups no longer close on mouse scroll.
  • Can no longer split 1 stack.
  • Clicking on window backgrounds will de-focus controls.
  • Fixed alt-tabbing not recognizing when players releases keys.

UI

  • Equipment and shop windows show shadows for character previews.
  • Removed unnecessary whitespace in item tooltips.
  • Fixed "UI > Resizable" checkbox hitbox.
  • Escape will properly close chat (enter still works).
  • Vendor shop item context will not show "equip".
  • Lights no longer show on map when opening equipment window.
  • Drop down menus will be more consistent and no longer scaling issues with "ui scale".
  • Crafting window will properly format "Soap" description in craft details.
  • Crafting window will display when no sockets in craft details.

Settings

  • Fixed incorrect keymap default settings and equalized volume settings. (Will only effect new users.)
  • Improved Settings > Keys "Key waiting prompt" ui and ux, and added sound.
  • Settings window scales properly with the "UI Scale" option.

Mobile-Specific

  • Attack joystick now aims correctly.
  • Closing the context menu no longer triggers unintended actions.
  • Main menu login will animate with keyboard, so that players can see their email/password.
  • Chat channel drop down will open upwards and bigger scale, so that it doesn't hide behind keyboard.
  • Audio volume no longer too low.

Localization

  • Added missing English translations.

Audio

  • Various inventory interactions will properly play drop sound when necessary.
  • Interacting with unusable inventory items no longer plays unnecessary "drop sound".
